Many of us make the mistake of still wearing our makeup as if we were still in high school. Just like our wardrobe, our makeup needs updating too. Truth be told!!If you find yourself doing the same thing ten years ago, it is time to branch out and try something new!!
Be careful not to try to look like your teenage daughter either…..there is that delicate balance between looking youthful and looking like you want to be 20!!

As we get older our skin color changes and begins to thin. The best way to counteract this is to find the right shade and texture of foundation.
* I find that using liquid or cream foundations work best on aging skin. * Avoid using powders, as they tend to make us look older and settle into the lines. Some other great products to have on hand is a primer to smooth out the skin while filling in fine lines and a skin brightener to reflect light and make the skin glow and gorgeous!! Apply primer first...
Then the skin brightener...
Then do your foundation routine. If you feel adventurous, try what many makeup artists do and mix different foundation colors together to get the perfect match.
Just have fun trying things!!! Think of it like when you were in school playing with water colors, how fun it was to mix all the colors together!!!
Foundation colors - What is right for me? 
Take a look at your skin and see which undertones are more dominant, yellow or pink/beige. As we get older, our skin thins out leaving behind the blue and red veins under our skin exposed. I find using a foundation color that has more yellow works best for all of us!!

Be careful not to go too light….otherwise it will make our under eyes even worse!! The right concealer can knock off years!! This will balance the purples or dark spots that we want to cover.

When choosing colors, I find it best when shades have some gold in them. Like a pink or peach gloss or lipstick that has a touch of gold will look gorgeous on any skin tones!!!
